AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK TRAINS STAKEHOLDERS ON BANK PROCUREMENT RULES & PROCEDURES

Business Botswana  in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB) conducted a 3 day workshop from 3rd until 5th February 2020 in Gaborone on the bank's procedures and rules with regards to: institutional, financial management, procurement and disbursement arrangements.

The training was in preparation for the launch of the Economic Diversification Project supported ( technical assistance) by AfDB. The targetted industries includes: Small stock, Tourism and Horticulture industries.

The objective of the project will be to strengthen SMEs through a number of interventions aimed at improving business linkages and partnerships, strengthening institutional capacities of associations, and strengthening the business development market. Furthermore, the programme has inter-linked components namely: (i) review and update of the private sector development strategy and (ii) SME Improvement programme.
