2nd Selibe Phikwe Trade Fair & Agric Expo

Today 25th September 2025, the much-anticipated 2nd Edition of the Selibe-Phikwe Trade Fair & Agric Expo was officially opened, under the theme “Promoting Industrialisation: Paving the Path to Sustainable Development.” The Expo taking place at the Selibe-Phikwe Showgrounds, brought together captains of industry, government leaders, entrepreneurs, farmers, and innovators to showcase opportunities that drive industrialisation and sustainable growth in the region.
In his opening remarks, His Worship the Deputy Mayor of Selibe-Phikwe, Honourable Roller Gadibonwe Lesedi, emphasized the importance of the Expo as a platform to position Selibe-Phikwe for economic revival and to support youth and SMEs in unlocking opportunities.
The Keynote Speaker, General Manager of Premium Resources Botswana, a proud subsidiary of NexMetals Mining Corp, Mr. Tidimalo Tito,called for stronger collaboration between government, the private sector, and communities to accelerate industrialisation and agricultural development, stressing that such partnerships are crucial for Botswana’s long-term growth.He further said that it is crucial for our government to continue investing in enabling infrastructure such as roads, energy, and digital systems.
“These are the lifelines that will connect Selebi-Phikwe’s industries to regional and global markets," He said.
Mr. Tito added that, for a town that once thrived on mining and is now rebuilding itself as a hub of trade and agriculture, reliable infrastructure is not a luxury, but a necessity.
Delivering his address, Business Botswana CEO, Mr. Norman Moleele, applauded the Expo’s role in fostering dialogue and partnerships, and announced that the 3rd Edition of the Selibe-Phikwe Trade Fair & Agric Expo will be held from 14th to 18th July 2026. He encouraged all stakeholders to prepare for an even bigger and better platform next year that will open wider avenues for trade, innovation, and collaboration.
The Expo sets the stage for meaningful engagements and opportunities that will strengthen Selibe-Phikwe’s position as a hub for industrialisation and agricultural excellence.
