Business Botswana Calls for Stronger Botswana -South Africa Partnerships

Yesterday, Business Botswana CEO, Ms Tumi Mbaakanyi, addressed the concluded Botswana–South Africa Business Forum, calling for stronger regional partnerships to drive trade, investment and economic growth.
She highlighted the need for Botswana and South Africa to work together in building regional value chains in key sectors including manufacturing, agro-processing, mineral beneficiation and green energy, whilst also improving trade logistics and access to financing opportunities.
Business Botswana President, Mr Neo Nwako, delivered the key outcomes of the Forum during the 6th Bi-National Commission led by the two Heads of State. The outcomes focused on strengthening regional collaboration, unlocking investment opportunities, supporting SMEs and women-owned businesses and promoting private sector-led industrialisation and sustainable economic growth.
Botswana and South Africa also signed a number of agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation in the transport, water, energy and correctional services sectors.
