Business Botswana Engages NHI Secretariat on the Draft National Health Insurance

Business Botswana hosted the Ministry of Health’s National Health Insurance (NHI) Secretariat this week for engagements on the Draft NHI Policy and its implications for the private sector. Ms Lydia Andries and her team updated on the policy development and implementation progress, noting that the policy had been tabled before Parliament. Business Botswana team welcomed the progress and committed to continued private sector participation, after the private sector had actively given feedback during development of the policy.
Dr Thabo Phologolo also engaged the Business Botswana team on the policy’s stakeholder consultations and the technical aspect therein. The Business Botswana Board of Directors welcomed the overall direction of the reform and emphasised the importance of continued private sector involvement throughout the implementation stages to support efficiency, competitiveness and sustainability in the healthcare sector
