Business Botswana in collaboration with Grant Thornton and Botswana Investment and Trade Centre BITC are hosting the 4th Annual Private Business Growth Awards, mandated to reward members who approach growth from both a strategic and a holistic perspective by creating a positive impact and contributing to a strong vigorous national economy.

Speaking to the media in Gaborone today, Business Botswana Acting CEO Norman Moleele said that these awards are in line with their mandate to enhance the competitiveness of the private sector to continue tapping new markets and promoting sustainable development. He noted that employment is at the core of the economic wellbeing and in the competitive world, there is a need to focus on economic growth, which will lead to employment and ultimately improve the social wellbeing of Batswana.

For his part, BITC Acting CEO Kelotsositse Olebile said that they are mandated to propel investment promotion, export development and nation branding as key components to the country’s economic diversification strategy. He highlighted that these awards serve as an extension of their mandate encouraging and recognising the growth of businesses within the economy thereby creating job opportunities for Batswana.

Olebile encouraged participation by Batswana in the national investment drive, communicate government’s commitment and support to investment initiatives in the country.
